Jam of the Week: Ultralight Beam

If you know me personally or learned anything about me from my blog you know 3 facts:

  1. I LOVE MUSIC!
  2. I love Kanye West and all his antics!
  3. I kind of have impeccable taste when it comes to music.

With that said this song is so amazeballs it brought me out of blog hiding.  I had to get back on the grid to share this with you.

Ultralight Beam to me is as close to musical perfection as I’ve heard in a really long time.  From the choir (who doesn’t love a choir) to Kelly Price’s strong and powerful voice, The Dream’s uniquely odd but just right for this track vocals to Kirk Franklin making you feel like you got some church to last but definitely not least Chance the Rapper losing his gotdamn mind and going off like he was hit with the holy ghost.  This song is EVERYTHING!

Kanye performed this past weekend on Saturday Night Live and they all gave an awesome performance.  (I love how Kanye steps back and goes off to Chance going off).

Jam of the Week (The College Dropout)

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the release of Kanye West’s The College Dropout.  I know he’s been around longer than 10 years on the somewhat behind the scenes underground circuit but The College Dropout was when I was officially introduced to Kanye West, and I’ve got to say that all narcissism and assholeisms aside I love his music and his productions.  I honestly think he’s a musical genius (of course he thinks so too).

In honor of The College Dropout’s 10 year anniversary, although I listen to the know album over and over again I think these are my favorite songs from the album:

Song: Slow Jamz

Song: We Don’t Care

Song: Last Call

Have a great week friends!

Met Gala 2013 dress up mesh up

The annual Met Gala was held last night with PUNK: Chaos to Couture as the theme of the night.  For a red carpet lover it was so much fun to see just how creative some of the celebs got.  Some played it safe and some went balls to the wall.  Here are some of my favorite looks of the night.

My top 5 that actually went for it are:

Nicole Richie in Top Shop

Miley Cyrus in Marc Jacobs

Anne Hathaway in Valentino

Gwen Stefani in Maison Martin Margiela

The rest of my favorite celeb looks went safe but definitely rocked the pretty:

Brooklyn Decker in Peter Pilotto

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior

Carey Mulligan in Balenciaga

Jennifer Lopez in Michael Kors

And of course I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t mention this monstrosity of a fugly ass Mrs. Doubtfireish get up that Kim Kardashian dared to bare.

Kim K in Givenchy

Yes I know that she’s pregnant and it’s a little more difficult to get as fabulous as you’d like but personally I think she tried way too hard and was doing way too much in this get up.  I can’t believe Kanye allowed her to go out like this unless his goal was to ensure her that she is the laughing stock.  Maybe Kim should have taken a page from Alexis Welch’s book (Amar’e Stoudemire’s wife) because she too is expecting and looked gone with the wind fabulous hunty!

What did you think of all the Met Gala 2013 red carpet fabulousness?

Jam of the Week: Creepers

I have a not so secret affinity for Kid Cudi’s music, it’s deep and different without being too far out there. I hadn’t heard this song in a couple months, then it played on my ipod and I fell in love with it all over again. Enjoy!
